What a lovely place. It is worth going with an empty stomach. They serve a lot of food for the price you pay. Finger licking food and a very friendly staff is the specialty of this place. Located on river side, this must be on your must visit list in Sacramento

This is a local favorite of mine. I've been going here since I celebrated my 21st birthday there (several years ago...) Good for groups of all sizes. I usually split the steampot for 2 with whomever I'm there with, and their drinks are tasty and entertaining. (They have a full bar for the less adventurous, as well.)It is an interactive place and the servers are engaging and fun. Periodically they will have a dance minute and it's cute to see the children get involved with that. Also good for embarrassing your friends or family on their birthdays.

A really fun place to eat, the atmosphere is great and the food is good, at least a 4.5. I highly recommend. Wait times can be long due to its location in Old Sacramento.

Trendy, loud, fast-paced... Not where you'd want to go for that classic, quiet, cozy first date. Birthday group celebrations- younger to mid aged crowd. Great for kids in the daytime. Excellent views and lots of sites and activities surrounding. Parking is simple and free with validation.

Very lively place. Great for the family. Nice bar and little shop with shirts and cups and trinkets. Great friendly service. Downtown close to a lot of shopping and the river. Parking is a bit iffy. Be prepared to walk a ways for parking.

Not worth the hype. Shrimp skewers were dry as a bone. Bar staff was great. Off duty employees that were at the bar were stumbling drunk. One tried to pick a fight with me. Not worth the time. Should really keep control of their off duty employees at the bar.

We selected Joe's Crab Shack for lunch on Valentine's Day. It turned out to be an excellent choice! Our wait was only 15 minutes. We had crab dip for an appetizer and it was delivered hot, bubbly and delicious with thin and crispy chips. I had steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. My husband had the shrimp sampler. Both meals were delivered fresh and hot. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, the restaurant was clean and well lit, and seemed well-run on this busy day. I didn't visit the restroom on this day. Overall, we had a great experience!

Great location on the river. Excellent service. Perfect afternoon lunch location. We already have plans to return.

First time my family and I had dinner here, a bit of a wait but not bad, the employees were all amazing, Garrit (probably butchered the name) was awesome!! Loved the place, food was delicious!!👌 Will definitely be back!!

Always love this place! Best seafood around! The service is always friendly, fast, and accurate. Having been to a few others I can say with complete certainty that their service and food are universally amazing. If you are in the mood for seafood, get to one as soon as you can.

Went in with my friends last night for dinner. Went to Joe's on a Sunday night. Had to wait over an hour but that was expected. There is always a long wait. The food was good, the waiter was attentive. It was a fun atmosphere. Everyone had a great time.

The wife and I had a great time at Joe's Crab Shack last night. We had Cajun Shrimp for the appetizer and the Crab Daddy pot for the entree. They were both delicious.We didn't wait long to be seated and the service was great also. We love the Shack!

Went for a friends birthday. We were seated right away (lunch on a Saturday) and had a lovely view of the Sacramento River. Food was good but the drinks were amazing. I could have done without the singing and dancing but was fine since it's part of the restaurants vibe.

Love the food and the staff. They treat you like family. Sometimes the wait time is a little long but its definitely worth it. We came for my birthday and its was a blast.

This is the best testing crab ever! A little disappointed about my Queen Crab Legs, half the Shell was empty on all my legs, for 35.99 and you already don't get that many.... As far as taste goes, THE Best... Seasoned to perfection.... The service was great as well....

Awesome service and food. I gave our waitress a little scare when I asked to see the manager because I had a complaint... the complaint is that there aren't more like her at all the other places we go. My wife just rolled her eyes. I have a weird sense of how I complement some people. Absolutely wonderful suggestions from her on the menu. Will definitely be back with more of the family in our group. Add this is definitely a big group family type of place. Lots of fun.

Server wasn't very optimistic. Place wasn't that busy but the server didn't seem in the mood to service my table. The second server that took over was great. Food was ok. It seems like I can get better food for the price I paid for. Shrimp Mac wasn't impressive at all. They was barely any cheese. Seemed thrown together. There weren't any napkins on my table. I'd give it another shot just not this location.

Fun, very busy, popular place! I would go back, great food. Didn't care for our waitress to much. Maybe she was just to busy for her customers? To many customers for her to handle?

They are absolutely AMAZING! Food is always top of the line & service is hands down perfect! I have a shrimp allergy & they always have the chef come out and talk to me & then after served he always come back to check on me!

We split one of their pots, and it was served to us barely warm. The server was nice enough to get us another that was very hot. The crab cakes were also mushy. Good service though.

Went with a large group of about 15 got a birthday party. The staff added a table to accommodate us, which was nice. The prices were as expected except I was surprised by the drink and gratuity charges. One meal, one sandwich, and two drinks that has no discernable alcohol, was over $91.The food was pretty good other than the steaks, which were not cooled properly at our table.

Bad service and it wasn’t even a full house. We would ask for a beer and he would bring it out and walk around the whole restaurant with it and then bring it to the table ? We then asked for some Joes hot sauce and he acted like he had never heard of it and had no idea what it is. Not once did he refill our drinks (waters) in the whole 2 hours we were there. We would get up and get our own beers from the bar because he never came to the table up until the end to pick up our plates and get our check. Once we paid he then walked around the whole restaurant with the receipt like he did the beers. (We watched him do this BOTH times) we where there to celebrate my little brothers birthday honestly it was just bad.. on the plus side the food was excellent and the dancing from the waiters was great and fun to watch!

Maybe the atmosphere just wasn’t for me. We went on a Saturday night, and it was just loud. The acoustics are terrible, there’s loud music, and the waiters all yell when someone orders a specific drink. If it’s your birthday, the waiters make you dance around, and get everyone to sing happy birthday. I’m sure some people find this fun, but definitely not somewhere to go if you want a quiet night. I’m terms of food, I thought it was mediocre and overpriced. It wasn’t bad, it was just “okay.” I was definitely expecting better based on the prices. We got a s’mores dish for desert, which we expected to be heated up, but it seemed like they’d just put it in the microwave for 30 seconds before serving it. Overall, I found it a bit disappointing. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

The food was good. But I noticed that some of my queen crab legs had no meat in them. $35 is way too much to pay for just shells. The waitress Courtney was sweet and kind to me. The young man who delivered my food was very sweet too. The ladies at the front desk were pleasant and accommodating. I enjoyed the birthday songs and the dance.

If you arrive early you can get a seat by the window. The mighty Sacramento River rolls by and at times an assortment of boats and wildlife. The servers are friendly and fun. The drinks have cute names. The food is adequate and there is plenty of of it.

I've never been to such an upbeat place. The environment is pretty over-the-top, so if you don't like people constantly chanting, singing and dancing all around you, maybe sit this one out.The food is flavorful and can be served in a variety of recipes. You won't need salt and pepper shakers. The drinks are good, not too strong.The price is higher than I typically spend, but the quality is on par. You're paying for a fun and unforgettable experience. If you spend a birthday here, be prepared to make a fool of yourself.

They serve so much delicious seafood in its various form. It's hard to choose! We loved it and their mixed drinks are lie no other place. Plus they also feature funny slogans on their gear for sale like "If you love her, give her crabs!"

No matter how many times I go to this location it's a great time. Good atmosphere and the employees make it memorable. Good drinks and food. This location never let's me down.

We have a child with a severe peanut and dairy allergy. The staff, Corina and Kristen the manager were amazing! The manager came to our table a couple times to be sure we knew options and to reassure our son that he was taken seriously, and wanted to be sure he was satisfied with the meal. We really appreciate them, it’s not always easy to find restaurants that understand!

Amazing food. They were dancing to car wash which was cool. And they gave us sharks for the kids

Went there tonight. Great place and service. If you have the chance to go there I recommend going. You do have to get on the waiting list during peak hours, but your in Old Sacramento take a look around while you wait. It's worth it

Long wait. I love the seafood pots! Service slow and drink refills were impossible. Lots of servers but I felt they were understaffed. I do not love their mixed cocktails. Too much fluff, not enough alcohol. Great view!

Not even done yet, wonderful atmosphere, spirited and friendly waiters, great crab! Loves me some more hushpuppies. Medium rare steak on point, wife and I had a great time. Thanks 😊

The portions have gotten a lot smaller since we last visited...wow. If I had to guess, a new manager must have been just hired and they are really trying to budget to impress the owners. Also, when we asked for a side of garlic butter we got cooking oil with garlic instead. Note to manager: you can't penny pinch everything, makes you look like a fool.

I like the steam pots and the atmosphere, it's a family friendly restaurant. Good selection of entrees and appetizers, service is average, but friendly. It's more on the pricey side, but it's a nice treat every once in a while.

Love this place! From the wait staff to management, everyone is fabulous! Even when our ticket got lost for our meal and we waited for our food for almost an hour they handled it with professionalism and grace under fire. So, there was no room to be upset. They handled it perfectly. Anytime you want to have a great meal, wonderful ambiance, some laughter, even a bit of dancing at your table...... this is the place to go!

Took a ride to Old Sacramento and decided we wanted Seafood. We always saw a lot of people waiting to get in. We waited an hour, got seated outside. Iced water was served, we ordered 2 Hurricanes drinks and placed our appetizer and food order. We had the Sampler appetizer. The Crab & Shrimp dip was good, the Crispy Calamari was tough and rubbery. Food came and still no drinks delivered. Finished our meal still no drinks. We cancelled them and asked for more ice water which took forever also. Even our bill was incorrect. Will never come back!!

I eat in this spot a lot since I work nearby. I must say the customer service is always fantastic and they keep the spot clean constantly. Prices are reasonable and they serve big portions.

Excellent service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was good. Not overpriced. Plated portions were a little smaller than the menu photos but they were prepared the way they were presented. Flounder stuffed with crab was excellent. View is great if you sit by the windows. Loud near the bar. There is a bar that you can sit at and eat aside from the liquor bar.

Big, make that huge location right on the Sacramento River waterfront. Went for a light lunch after walking around with my mom. Early enough to get a window seat facing the river. Great views. Service was friendly and good.Food was pretty OK. Probably what I ordered Coconut Shrimps.

Dine is great, great food ,great experience but they just not doing great on orders take out been waited for 40mins it says order is ready to pick up but looks like they didn't prepare my meal 😐

Good quality of food! & Taste mmmm. Great atmosphere! Casual wear! Great for families with Children, Birthday's for Adults are Fun (tell your waiter on the slay who's Birthday) Music is great too.Good bloody Marys & Beer or Wine. Not a romantic place but fun to eat and have a full belly when you leave.Reservation Recommended for big groups.

My husband and I love sea food. I love their lump crab cakes. A lot of big pieces of crab with very little filler to hold it all together. Hubby had fish & chips he really like with a great coleslaw. Hush puppies were great also.

Liked the area we sit outside. Service was ok. Food was okay also, the batter was good on the fish. We will not return. Like the walk-in shop down the street much better.

This place is amazing. Host , servers, staff , and manager were all very friendly and kind. Food was great, took a friend for her birthday and they sang her happy birthday. Definitely made my day. Couldn't ask for more. I recommend this place to everyone.

Staff was friendly, they do know how to dance..lol. The entree came out before the appetizer. The blackened fish was great. The oysters in the half shell had small broken shell pieces in it. The horseradish was gritty and dry, no pop. Unfortunately the cocktail sauce was made with it. It's the little things that make a place great. In my opinion it's more a tourist attraction than a real seafood place.
